Working with FOYI
Do I need to be an established business to work with FOYI?
No. We work with owners at different stages — from those still planning a launch to businesses that are well established and need structure, training, or tax-readiness support. What matters more is that you're ready to look honestly at how the business runs.
How do engagements usually start?
With a free consultation. We learn about your business, listen to what isn't working, and give you an honest read on which service would help most. If it makes sense to continue, we scope the work from there. If it doesn't, we'll tell you that too.
Do you work with businesses outside Omaha?
Yes. We're based in Omaha, Nebraska, but consulting, coaching, and training can be delivered virtually to clients anywhere. In-person training is available in the Omaha area and by arrangement elsewhere.
What size businesses do you work with?
Primarily small businesses — owner-operated companies and lean teams. Our guidance is built for organizations without a large internal finance, HR, or operations function.
Tax compliance & strategy
Are you a CPA firm?
No. FOYI Solutions LLC is not a CPA firm, accounting firm, or law firm. We provide business consulting and educational support. We do not prepare or file tax returns, and we do not provide audit or accounting services.
So what exactly does your tax support involve?
Education and readiness. We help you understand your federal, state, and local tax obligations, organize your records, plan for estimated taxes and deadlines, understand payroll and contractor considerations, and become aware of where sales tax may apply. The goal is to help you get organized and ask better questions.
Is this a substitute for hiring a CPA?
No, and we don't present it as one. Individualized tax advice requires a licensed professional. What we do is help you become better organized and more informed, so your time with a CPA or tax preparer is more productive — and so problems get caught earlier.
Do you coordinate with my existing CPA or attorney?
Yes. When specialized advice is required, we coordinate with your CPA, tax preparer, attorney, or other qualified professionals. We're comfortable working alongside the advisers you already have.
Can you tell me what's deductible for my business?
We can help you understand categories of business expenses that are commonly deductible and how to organize your records around them. We can't determine what's deductible in your specific situation — that's a determination your CPA or tax preparer is qualified to make.
Training & education
Can you train our whole team, not just the owner?
Yes. Corporate training and professional development is a core service. We design programs for teams, managers, and employees, delivered in person, virtually, or in a hybrid format depending on what works for your organization.
Is the training off-the-shelf or customized?
Customized. We start by understanding what's actually not working and what 'better' looks like for your business, then build the program around that. Your industry, team size, and constraints all shape the content.
How long are the workshops?
It depends on the topic and format. Some are single sessions of a few hours; others run as multi-session programs. We'll propose a structure that fits the goal and your team's availability.
Are educational sessions available to individuals?
Yes. In addition to corporate training, we offer workshops and learning programs for individual owners and professionals. Get in touch and we'll tell you what's currently scheduled or coming up.
Pricing & logistics
How much does a consultation cost?
The initial consultation is free. Beyond that, pricing depends on the scope of work — which service, how long the engagement runs, and what it involves. You'll get a clear scope and cost before anything begins.
How long does a typical engagement last?
It varies. Some clients need a focused planning engagement over a few sessions. Others want ongoing coaching or a training program delivered over several weeks. We'll propose a realistic timeline as part of scoping.
What happens during the free consultation?
We ask about your business, listen to what's not working, and give you an honest read on which service would help most — plus a clear next step. There's no obligation to continue.
